Freddie Slater steps
up to Formula 2.

Freddie Slater will take the next step in his single-seater career in 2027, joining Invicta Racing for his first season in FIA Formula 2.

The move follows a standout rookie campaign in FIA Formula 3, where the 18-year-old established himself as a title contender with Trident Motorsport. Slater finished runner-up in the championship after taking one Feature Race victory, three pole positions and eight podiums across the season. His promotion continues a rapid progression through the junior categories. Slater moved into car racing in 2022 before winning the Ginetta Junior Championship, the Italian and UAE Formula 4 titles and the Formula Regional European Championship on his way to Formula 3.

Audi Revolut F1® Team Academy F3 driver Freddie Slater walks inside the garage

Invicta Racing brings recent championship-winning experience, having secured consecutive Drivers’ and Teams’ titles in 2024 and 2025. Slater will begin working with the team during the Formula 2 post-season test as preparations for his 2027 campaign get underway. As the first driver signed to the Audi Driver Development Programme, Slater will continue to receive support throughout his Formula 2 season. The programme will work with him on and off the track as he adapts to the next level of competition and continues his development.
