All for One
In this episode, Hakan, our test bench operator for the powertrain in Neuburg, will share the story of how his work helps lay the foundation for what later happens on track. A story about precision, teamwork, and the thrill of being very close to the action, even from a distance.
Hakan, take us with you: what happens on your test bench?
"On our powertrain test bench, all the components come together for the first time: the internal combustion engine, the energy recovery system, the gearbox, and parts of the chassis from Hinwil. Before that, everything is tested individually, but here we see whether the overall system works. I operate the test bench, replace parts when necessary, and make sure everything runs smoothly. We always work as a team; four or five people plus the respective engineers."
Tell us a little bit about what brought you here?
"My work focuses on preparing composite components for production. I coordinate the flow of parts between different stages, from foam and inserts machining to supporting the laminators and assemblers. I also oversee the autoclave process: loading, curing, and unloading parts. In short, I make sure everything is prepared correctly so the production process runs smoothly and efficiently."
Tell us a little bit about what brought you here?
"I’ve been watching every Grand Prix since I was a child and now that Formula One will return to Istanbul is a real highlight for me with my Turkish roots!
I used to work in Technical Development at Audi in the engine test field and as soon as Audi’s entry into Formula One became official, it was immediately clear to me that I wanted to be part of it. I’m so grateful to be part of this team since 2022."

Tell us more, what’s happened since then?
"A lot! From building a completely new testing facility based on Formula One requirements with the most advanced technology the market could offer, to developing our first powertrain for the team’s debut in Formula One. What an amazing journey it has been so far!"
What makes your role so important for the team?
"In Formula One, precision, teamwork and timing are critical. If one step doesn’t go according to plan, the entire process is affected. In my case, without proper preparation and curing, we simply wouldn’t have usable carbon fibre parts. My role ensures that everything is ready at the right time and that components are processed correctly."
Success in Formula 1® is never the work of a few. Across locations, departments and disciplines, the expertise of many individuals drives Audi Revolut F1® Team forward every day.
