Mattia Binotto

CEO & Team Prinicipal

“We know that success in Formula 1 is not achieved overnight. It takes a strong team, a high-performance culture and an commitment to continuously improve how we work, collaborate and perform. That is what we are building together, with the ambition to fight for world championships by 2030.”

Mattia

Mattia Binotto, one of Formula 1®’s most experienced leaders, began his career at Scuderia Ferrari in 1995 as an engineer in the engine department, contributing to Michael Schumacher’s championship dominance. His technical precision and collaborative leadership saw him rise steadily within the organisation.

As Ferrari evolved through the V10, V8, and V6 hybrid eras, Binotto’s role grew, and he was appointed technical director of chassis and power unit in 2016. Under his guidance, he integrated the team’s technical structure, helping Ferrari return to consistent race-winning form. In 2019, Binotto was appointed team principal, steering the organisation through major regulatory transitions and structural modernisation.

Binotto joined the team, then Sauber, in 2024 as Head of Audi F1 Project, where he shaped the strategic and technical foundations for the entry of Audi into Formula 1® as a factory team. In this role, he was responsible for ensuring seamless alignment between the power unit operations in Neuburg and the chassis headquarters in Hinwil, as well as the facilities in Bicester.

In April 2026, he assumed the role of CEO & Team Principal of Audi Revolut F1® Team, leading the organisation's strategic direction while overseeing all aspects of the team's sporting, technical and operational activities to drive its long-term competitive ambitions. For Binotto, success is not determined by the fastest car or the most progressive technology alone. It is built by people, the right mindset and strong collaboration. He therefore plays a key role in building the organisation and shaping the team culture, bringing people across different locations together as one unified team with a shared ambition.

His extensive top-team experience and engineering authority are a central driving force behind the team’s long-term goals.
