Meet the legend
Allan is among sportscar racing’s elite and most decorated competitors. Driving for Porsche and Audi, he joined an exclusive club as a three-time winner of the notoriously demanding Le Mans 24 Hours and was crowned FIA World Endurance Champion in 2013. His endurance racing success also includes three American Le Mans Series titles, four victories at the iconic Sebring 12 Hours – making him the most successful British driver in the event’s history – four Petit Le Mans wins and four Silverstone 1000km victories.
Following his retirement from racing, Allan remained deeply connected to the sport through media and commentary roles with BBC F1 and BBC 5 Live, while also giving back to the sport as an FIA Formula One Steward.
In parallel, he transitioned into senior motorsport leadership roles, becoming Director of Co-ordination for Audi Group Motorsport and Team Principal of Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler in Formula E. Under his guidance, the team claimed the FIA Formula E Teams’ Championship in their debut season and went on to become one of the most successful teams in the championship’s history.
Allan has been a key figure in Audi’s preparations for its highly anticipated entry into Formula One in 2026. Building on his expertise, he is now taking on the role of Director of Audi’s newly launched Driver Development Programme, reinforcing the brand's long-term commitment to building a competitive and sustainable Formula One team by investing in young talent, on and off the track.
